STEM EXPO & Publix Math Night

Bay Elementary School and the Bay Boosters invite you to a STEM EXPO & Hands-On Learning Night Thursday, January 26. 

The event starts at 3:30 and goes until 4:30 at BES. From 4:30-6:30 Watercolor Publix will open it's door for hands on learning. Math comes to life for students as they apply math skills to grocery shopping. Students can pick up a grocery list upon arrival and practice math skills.  

Zach Giuliano, 9, won the 23rd annual Tom Dorsey Winter Golf Classic by 13 strokes. Zach shot a 74 to win. This qualifies him for a spot in the Downing Gray Cup Junior Golf Championship. Zach is a 4th grader in Mrs. Hackney's class.

Way to go Zach!

Here is a list of activities for the week.

Monday, Jan. 23- Human Bookworm

Tuesday, Jan. 24- Flash light reading

Wednesday, Jan. 25- 100th day of school D.E.A.R. Drop Everything and Read

Thursday, Jan. 26- 101st day of school- Come dressed as your favorite 101 Dalmatian Character

Friday, Jan. 27- Vocaulary Parade! Come dressed as a vocabulary word, sparkle or glitter (Parade starts at 8:00)

Activities start at 1:30 except Friday parade at 8:00!

Second graders in Mrs. Jersey's class have been researching weather/climate in Brazil as part of the Interdisciplinary study BES is participating in this year. Students created Christmas cards based on their research. The cards were displayed throughout December &  then sent home to parents. "Feliz Natal", (Merry Christmas in Portuguese)!

Free & Reduced Meal Applications are available online!

WCSD Food and Nutrition Services is accepting free and reduced meal applications online! The online applications enable parents to complete and submit the applications faster, while allowing Food and Nutrition Services to approve the applications in a more timely manner.

The application can be accessed on the BES website under the menu section via the offered Free/Reduced Application link, and on the WCSD website at from any computer with internet capabilities. Food and Nutrition Services is happy to bring the technology to our families to ensure that students receive meal benefits as quickly as possible. The online applications are secure and the application is confidential. Please remember, if your chlid qualifies for meal benefits, these benefits are available for breakfast and lunch. 

If an application for the 16-17 school year has been submitted and processed no additional applications is necessary.
